Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024 Date Live Updates: PM Modi said that MVA will end the 'Majhi Ladki Bahin' scheme, if it returns to power.
Live Updates Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024 During his address to the campaign launch of the 2024 Maharashtra assembly elections in Dhule, PM Narendra Modi criticized the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) coalition saying the leaders of MVA are fighting for power and not for progress. In response, he warned that the elected MVA would do away with the 'Majhi Ladki Bahin' scheme if they come into power. He said only the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance could sustain the development of Maharashtra, promising that the development achieved in the last two-and-half years would continue.
Declaring "BJP ahe tar gati ahe, Maharashtra chi pragati ahe" or if BJP is there, there is progress, Modi spoke strongly about the growth of India under an anti-poverty government and how Congress's "Garibi Hatao" slogan has actually been doing the opposite of what it promised when the number of poor increased to 25 crore from earlier few crores.
Meantime, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray launches party's manifesto; promises free education for boys, five lakh homes in Mumbai, and scrapping of several projects including the Dharavi redevelopment project and the Barsu refinery.
