Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address nine rallies across the state of Maharashtra this week, beginning with his first at Dhule on Friday, as part of the BJP's campaign for the state assembly elections.
While talking to a rally in Dhule, PM Modi assured the state that the Mahayuti government will continue to develop and targeted Congress party on many counts. The PM also attacked the Congress and the INDIA bloc parties by saying they are "plotting" against Kashmir after recent ruckus in the J&K assembly over the resolution calling for the restoration of Article 370.
SHARIQ M RAFIQUE Addressing election rallies in Akola at noon and at Nanded at 2 pm On November 12, he will campaign in Chimur and Solapur and participate in a roadshow in Pune during the evening.
His last rallies will be staged on November 14 in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Raigad, and Mumbai. The election for the assembly of the Maharashtra state will happen on November 20 which is going to be counted on 21st day after the elections.
BJP has alliances with chief minister Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena faction and Ajit Pawar's NCP as part of Mahayuti. It is up against the forces of Maha Vikas Aghadi MVA, the alliance of Shiv Sena by Uddhav Thackeray UBTS, Sharad Pawar's NCP, and the Congress party.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar clarified that he did not seek Prime Minister Narendra Modi to come to his constituency Baramati for a rally, as the contest there is withinn the family. The sitting MLA Ajit Pawar is facing his nephew Yugendra Pawar, who is fighting from the rival Nationalist Congress Party, led by Sharad Pawar.
Sharad Pawar, NCP chief of (SP) said the people of Maharashtra seek change and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi or MVA will work to offer them an alternative after the ensuing state assembly elections.
He also welcomed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's appeal for a caste census. These comments by Pawar came at Nagpur airport when he was going for public meetings that are part of the November 20 state elections.
Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, based in Maharashtra, had promised various welfare measures before the assembly elections. Some of the key promises include a monthly allowance for women of ₹3,000, free state transport travel, loan waiver up to ₹3 lakh for farmers and a monthly allowance of ₹4,000 for unemployed youth.
Besides, up to ₹25 lakh health insurance and free medicines have also been promised. Under the 'Ladki Bahin' scheme, the BJP-led government at present gives ₹1,500 to eligible women, and it proposes to raise the amount to ₹2,100.
