Maharashtra Election: Shiv Sena Candidate Baburao Kohlikar From Hadgaon Constituency


Hadgaon (Maharashtra Election 2024 ) : It is true that they built up their strongholds at local self-government bodies from all areas of their territory. This was not very easy in the Congress and NCP-strongholds of Dharashiv, Latur, Nanded and Hingoli. Nonetheless, such determined Shiv Sainiks made it true. This force of dedicated Shiv Sainiks is proudly standing all over Maharashtra rural areas today. Among them, Baburao Kadam Kohlikar is a Shiv Sainik who has earned a name in the politics of Nanded district due to his achievements.

A Determined Shiv Sena Worker Baburao Kadam Kohlikar is a senior Shiv Sena leader of the Hadgaon-Himayatnagar assembly constituency. He began his political career with the election of Nigwa Zilla Parishad and won it twice from that constituency. He displayed the saffron flag of Shiv Sena on the top of his constituency for consecutive 25 years. He contested assembly elections from Shiv Sena in 2009 but got defeated; however, nothing could ever stop him from making the politics serve the community. With strong organizational skills and the support of die-hard Shiv Sainiks, he hoisted Shiv Sena's flag in the 2014 assembly election with Nagesh Patil Ashtikar winning.

Soon after, Kohlikar and former MLA Nagesh Patil Ashtikar had a clash over the district chief position. Kohlikar's district chief position was abolished, and the Shiv Sainiks felt slighted. It reflected in the 2019 assembly elections, in which Kohlikar was an independent candidate and obtained second position. In the independent position, his performance has created history, and this increased his political power.


Supporting Eknath Shinde

Baburao Kadam Kohlikar coming back to Shiv Sena was just two and half years away from the election of the assembly. Nevertheless this news also lost its sheen, and even news of him being inducted into BJP were also doing the rounds of.

Around this time, Eknath Shinde raised a banner of rebellion within Shiv Sena. Ultimately, Kohlikar managed to have a workers' meeting with his supporters where he maintained that he had taken the decision to join Shiv Sena in the hands of Shinde.


Loss In Lok Sabha Elections After Joining Shiv Sena

Eknath Shinde had given Kohlikar a ticket from the Hingoli Lok Sabha constituency. However, in the 2024 Lok Sabha election, he lost the seat Hingoli with a 108,000-vote margin. Kohlikar was able to collect 383,000 votes while Nagesh Patil Ashtikar from the Uddhav Thackeray camp was able to garner 492,000 votes. However, Eknath Shinde again gave Kohlikar the ticket for Hadgaon-Himayatnagar assembly constituency which will have its assembly polls in this year.

Various Development Works in Hadgaon The state government has incurred Rs 1600 crores of expenditure to construct a Dam on the Panganga River which would result in providing all-time irrigation facilities in Hadgaon and Umarkhed Assembly Constituencies benefitting 100,000 acres of agricultural land.

Besides, within a spending of Rs 24 crores, the state government is constructing a Hostel building in Himayatnagar for boys and girls from the tribal background who would be offered quality educational facilities and dwelling quarters.

Tamsa and Nigwa have had rural hospitals built. Local people have healthcare there. Primary health centres exist in Mantha and Talni. Many of these projects Baburao Kohlikar has undertaken quite doggedly.

Hadgaon Constituency As the Chief Minister's ardent follower, Eknath Shinde is often termed as the Chief who stands straight for his people; till today, a coordination is strong seen in the Mahayuti (the grand alliance). The state carrying 24 total candidatures projected on, Kohlikar also comes forward as a strong candidate based on this ground itself. Additionally, this time his constituency battle is against an incumbent MLA Madhavrao Pawar of Congress. Here among 24 fighting for Kohlikar, more space can be considered for winning.
